All mechanical systems eventually get worn out. Your heater is no different. How do you know if you need a new furnace? This is especially important to think about when the colder season is fast approaching. Here are some tell-tale signs your system may need to be replaced:
If you need to replace your furnace or heater, call Absotemp today and we’ll assist you all the way through the process. Before doing anything, we will perform the necessary inspection to see if there’s any other options.
As winter approaches, ensuring that your heating system is reliable and efficient becomes increasingly important. All mechanical systems, including your heater, eventually experience wear and tear. Recognizing when your furnace or heating system is on its last legs can save you from unexpected breakdowns during the coldest months. At Absotemp Climate Control Inc, we understand the critical nature of a functioning heating system, and we’re here to guide you through the signs that indicate it might be time for a replacement.
1. Age of the System:
One of the most straightforward indicators that it might be time for a replacement is the age of your heating system. Most heaters and furnaces have a lifespan of 15 to 20 years. If your system is approaching or exceeding this age, it may be less efficient and more prone to breakdowns. Older systems often lack the advanced technology of newer models, leading to higher energy bills and more frequent repairs. If your heater is nearing the end of its lifespan, it’s worth considering a replacement to ensure you stay warm throughout the winter.
2. Frequent Repairs: Another significant sign that your heater may need replacement is if you find yourself frequently scheduling repair services. While occasional repairs are normal, if you’re constantly dealing with issues, it’s a red flag. Frequent breakdowns not only disrupt your comfort but also indicate that your system is struggling to keep up with the demands of heating your home. In such cases, investing in a new, more reliable system can save you money in the long run and reduce the hassle of ongoing repairs.
3. Increased Energy Bills: Rising energy bills can be a clear indicator that your heating system is becoming inefficient. As heaters age, they often lose their ability to operate efficiently, causing them to consume more energy to produce the same amount of heat. If you’ve noticed a significant increase in your heating costs despite not changing your usage habits, it might be time to evaluate whether a new system could offer better energy efficiency. Modern heating systems are designed with advanced technology that can lead to substantial savings on your energy bills.
4. Uneven Heating: If you experience uneven heating in different areas of your home, your heating system may be struggling to distribute heat evenly. This can be a sign that the system is no longer performing optimally or that it’s too small for your home’s needs. Uneven heating not only affects comfort but also suggests that your system might be working harder than it should, which can lead to increased wear and tear. A new heating system, properly sized for your home, can help ensure consistent warmth throughout every room.
When it comes to heating replacement, choosing the right company is just as important as selecting the right system. At Absotemp Climate Control Inc, we pride ourselves on delivering top-notch service and expertise. Below is a checklist that will help you find the best solution for replacement.
Will the company provide a free estimates service? There should be no surprise fees when a service is provided by Absotemp. Every cost will already be in the estimate.
Is it necessary to get forced-air cooling and heating?Remember that you can always opt for other alternatives. There are also radiant heat systems and heat pumps that function just as well.
What should the size of my system be? Simply matching your existing system’s specifications may not be your best buy, especially if you’ve added on to your home. Absotemp will personally calculate your home’s heating and cooling needs before any free estimate.
Do I need multiple heating and cooling zones? If you are going for a replacement, make sure you don’t just go for the same specs as that of your old system. If you’ve had home renovations and added more rooms and spaces, it may be good to consider another size.
Do I need a humidifier or a dehumidifier? This is a question that can be answered once you have already tested the humidity level of your home. Sometimes, you may need to get both to cater to different seasons.
Will I qualify for utility rebates for the system I buy? Yes, homeowners can receive up to $1000 in utility rebates with qualifying systems.
Do I get special manufacturer rebates and offers? Yes, Trane offers rebate programs in the fall and summer. Also, Trane is currently offering special financing for 72 months to qualifying customers with approved credit.
Will my HVAC system be efficient? You need to look at the operating costs in the long run, and not just the cost of the unit itself.
What are the different filter types? There are types of filters that improve indoor air quality. There are also washable and disposable ones.
Is there a service plan for maintaining and protecting my HVAC system? Replacing your system is a huge decision and investment. It is only wise that you make sure you call Absotemp Climate Control. We offer guarantees and discounts on our repairs. We also offer 10-year part warranties on new systems. We will be able to guide you in making the right decision.
At Absotemp Climate Control, we also offer financing, with approved credit, for your heating system replacement. Call us to get an inspection today and we will give you a complete estimate on the services that you will need.

Hot water is not something we give much thought to on a daily basis. We know when we turn on the shower, hot water will come out and steam will be filling our bathroom shortly! Until the day it doesn’t! A conventional storage tank water heater will last only about 10 to 15 years. You do not want the cold water of a morning shower to be your wake up call! Once you decide to replace your water heater, you don’t have to think about it again for several years down the road.
With the ability to vent horizontally or vertically using 3″ or 4″ PVC, ABS or CPVC pipe, you can vent this hot water heater through the wall or through the roof. The Bradford White TTW models are power vented for positive exhaust.
The Bradford White Defender Safety System is designed to be the safest, most reliable flammable vapor ignition resistant system in the industry meeting all the requirements set forth by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). The Defender Safety System features ScreenLok Technology flame arrestor. The louvered flame arrestor design increases the speed of incoming combustion air and creates a vector effect inside the combustion chamber when flammable vapors are ignited, preventing flames from traveling back through the flame arrestor and outside the water heater. Other features include Resettable thermal switch, virtually maintenance free.
ICON Control System is included on all Bradford White Residential and Light Duty Commercial Water Heaters. Features of the ICON System include:
Hydrojet® Total Performance System: The Hydrojet® Total Performance System is a cold-water inlet tube that was especially engineered to reduce costly sediment buildup and create more thorough mixing of incoming water with stored water. Because of more efficient mixing, extreme temperature differences throughout the tank are greatly reduced. Water Heaters with the Hydrojet Total Performance System don’t have to work as hard or as often to maintain a maximum supply of hot water at the desired temperature. They heat water faster and use less energy to do it. And, it’s standard equipment on all Bradford White top connect residential water heaters.
Vitraglas® The World’s Best Enamel Tank Lining: Bradford White water heater tanks are protected from the corrosive effects of hot water by an exclusive enamel lining. The exclusive Vitraglas enamel lining is uniquely formulated and applied to the interior of the water heater tank.
Our test results prove that Vitraglas provides unsurpassed protection against failure when compared to other water heater linings.
The Bradford White RG2PV75H6N is in compliance with the new Uniform Energy Factor requirements for water heater manufacturers set forth by the National Appliance Energy Conservation Act (NAECA).
